Internal Gear Ratios
#1
Has anyone counted the teeth on all the gears and calculated the ratios? The gearing is different from the F650 specs.
I know there are calculators setup for the DS, but some of them don't have the correct ratios for the gears or the primary reduction ratio.
As far as i can see, the gears for the primary reduction ratio are 78 teeth and 31 teeth, which equals 2.516.
I don't know the number of teeth for the individual gears...

Jeff has a F650 gearset (he would probably be willing to sell it too). I think he said the gap between 1st and 2nd was a little large - shouldn't really matter for 2nd gear starts though. He might be able to get you a tooth count.

Gear Ratio's DS650:
1- 2.75
2- 1.93
3- 1.44
4- 1.14
5- .957
I use to know the number of teeth per gear but can't find the list. I have these in my computer and
were given the teeth per gear by by Ron Wood. The September issue of 4-Wheel ATV Action also posted these ratio's in that issue.

People need to update their online gearing calculators.
