Default Trinity Stage IV Exhaust

Questions for all you guys who own this gorgeous exhaust...

1- Is it me or the head pipes stick out kind of far out, good enough to burn your legs. I read somewhere that they have had thier head sheild mounted off the side. Mine has no much mounts. Is there something I can clamp on without damaging this thing so I don't fry the flesh off my bones or it's not that bad and I can live with it.

2- Is this thing loud or not? I had a Big Gun (I actually like how the can angles upward more than the Trinity does) and it had a nice throaty 4 stroke sound

3- The bracket that holds it in is absolutely trick. However the stainless bolt seems kind of small to hold it to the bike and a washer on each side. Was there any problem with this? I was thinking of looking for some stainless threaded rod and just adding nuts on each end with some washer and the like so it sits stable.

Yes I'm still slapping my DS together.......maybe this weekend I'll get it going.

Pro-armor makes an after market sheild. Now, I had to Mfg'er a mount for the shield with stainless Button head bolts and I used alumn moulding from a door. I put 2 holes thru it and tightened and pulled the alumn inbetween the two header pipes. Then, I used another spacer to hold off the sheild from the pipes about 3/8 of an inch. Yeah, without the sheild you gonna cook your legs and pants. This was a poor design on Trinity. If you can weld stainless, I'd put a small tab and weld on the two bolt tabs and then mount it that way.

If you don't have the sheild your going to get burned!

See how Bombardier mounted the stock shield and this will give you some ideas on how I did it.

GOODLUCK, oh yeah cooked leather tastes like crap and my friend badly burned his leg on his Trinity Pipe. Watch out!

you could get a shop to weld some attachment bolts to the pipe, the shop i go to usually charges 20 for odds and ends like that.

sandman, i need to look into that. i love everythink about the pipe except the fact that they didn't put bolts on to mount the stock shield. i have burned a hole in my riding pants and burned my leg. usually i don't because the kevlar at the bottom of my pants doesn't burn and it hits the pipe all the time, but once when i was trying to back it up on a trail i burned the hole around the knee and burned my leg good

ohh, and entomber, the pipe sounds great and the bolt that goes through the bracket works fine, but this pipe sticks out a little far, so if you plan to wheelie like i do, then you might need a different grab bar than stock. i used the prm desert grab bar but you have to drill different holes in it to make it work...no problem there though...very easy took me about 5 minutes

bigslim78,

Yeah I noticed it sticks out kind of far. If I can change/revamp/modify two things is angle it similar to a Big Gun and fix them damn headpipes so they dont' stick out too damn far. If they made a revision for the headpipes I'd be more than happy to invest in them. I will call Trinity and see what they offer. I will also need a spark arrester if I plan to ride it at Silver Lake next year. They are stringent on that.

Hi guys
I just got the Trinity pipe and it came with the spark arestor. I just had to install it on the muffler.
They told me that with out the spark arestor the pipe makes a funny noise. They gave me a 190 main jet
to. I have stock carb. What should I do with the needle ? Do you change it to? My bike starts hard cold and
stalls. Will not idle untill warmed up all the way. Choke on all the way or one click.
