need thermostat housing asap- yet another tvi 720 build
#1
well i got my top end back finally from gary at tvi, after the never getting my stuff back from sam coe, I wasted about 2 months, then gary had my motor for a little over a month because someone that does some of the machine work was holding him up. all i have to say is that the machine work looks great, my builder even said that everything from gary took a lot of sweat and tears to develop in a realiabe fashion. so anyways with all the confusion of me not getting my cylinder and head back from sam coe I forgot that my thermostat housing was still mounted to my head when i sent it there. Now I have a motor getting put together and cant even ride it because i have no thermostat housing and sensors. I was wondering if anyone by chance has one laying around, pm me if you do, also when i talked to gary first over a month ago he said with the compression ratio of the piston i would be getting i would have to run about 103-105 octane, now he has a 13.5 to 1 piston which runs 110 octane and an 11.8 to 1 which i chose. The only thing im worried about is he said i wont have any problems running 93-94 octane in it. I told him I would probably put octane booster in it every so often just to help a little but otherwise i dont want to have to run race gas or a mix. He said I would not have any problems but i'm really worried about detonation. will someone please chime in that knows anything about this subject. thanks again

Store bought octane booster is total junk. When they say it improves you octane by 5 points, this is what they really mean: 93 octane + "razzle dazzle" octane booster = 93.5 octane.
If you trust your engine builder and he say's it's fine then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
