Default Enclosed Aluminum Trailers?

Next week I'm going to purchase a 14 foot enclosed aluminum trailer with an aluminum frame. I'm wondering if someone who has owned one that was all aluminum can tell me if they had any problems with cracked welds or other problems related to aluminum versus a steel trailer?

No problem here, I own a Renegade made by Rance. These are very well built trailers. Look at as many as you can and you will see the difference in quality which makes the decision easy.

I would think that @ 14' it would be DA by default. No?

I've had several Pace CargoSport trailers and all have done very well for me.

Thaks guys. I'm faxing a request for a quote to Rance. I didn't have them on my list. I need a trailer big enough to haul my ultralight and 1 ATV or 3 ATVs turned sideways.

The trailer I am most interested in right now is a Legend. I like the bonded aluminum skin instead of riveted. However, they may not offer it in an 8.5 wide so I'm looking at all the trailer manufacturers just to see what's out there.

Thanks for the info!

I've had some nice conversations w/ Ultimate Transportation, out of Fargo.....don'tcha know. I don't recall if they're aluminum framed, but the quality and price were pretty impressive. Ultimatetrailers.com

For all the trailer sizes that I've looked at, the price of going aluminum was never worth it for the difference in weight. H&H is steel framed with the rivetless outsides.

All things being the same, I'd go with an aluminum trailer every time... they don't rust, loosen up etc. They pull easier because they are lighter. Weight is hard to get in motion, but stopping it is just as hard on the tow vehicle. Keep that in mind...
