Cycle Country Manual lift system clearance
#1
I put the Cycle Country Manual lift system on my Honda 400 AT. It shows about 4 inches when in the up position. I installed it like the instructions said. Is this enough clearance? I put the Honda up on 1 1/2" boards to set the float. Any and all help appreciated. This unit is heavily made and I really like it. I have the 48" Blade. I noticed coming up my drive from the street in the up position, the blade bottomed out on its skids.

I have an AT also and just installed a 60' Cycle Country plow with a manual lift and have the same height clearance as you do. When I installed the plow in the garage I wondered why anyone needed a winch to lift a plow because the manual was so easy. Now that I have been out a few times I can see how a winch would be help in ground clearance. I too bottom out on certain parts of my driveway with the plow in the raised position. I had my strap on the bumper at first instead of the front rack. When I put the strap in the correct place it added another inch or two to the gound clearance. Just my mistake at first.
I think next year I will add a winch just for the reason of ground clearance.

I went out this morning and looked at my AT again. I saw that when I put the blade down to plow, the cable was dragging below the push tube frame. I drove back in the garage and instead of putting the machine on top of the 1 1/2" boards, I just pulled the slack out of the cable and then left about 1/2" of the cable slip for float. I then tightened the cable clamp. I then had 7 inches of clearance and the blade was much more manueverable. I cannot for the life of me see why they say to put the wheels on 1 1/2" boards. Too much float and too little clearance. I gained almost 4 inches of clearance. I also noticed that by putting the strap on the top part of the rack instead of the bumper, that afforded me some better clearance. Thanks for your input. Hope this helps. Will see how it works when we get the next snow. 62 degrees here today in Nebraska. I buy a blade and summer hits. LOL.
