i was drag racing today when i noticed my engine was pouring oil all over the exaust.it looked as though i might be getting 720 earlier than i thought, but after i got it pulled in it looked like the oil is coming from the valve cover gasket if not from the top of the valve cover.im going to take off the gas tank in the morning.is this a commen problem any of u have had or should i start gathing parts for the 720?

It all happend at once.... Big a$$ explosion of oil on everything. One of my valve cover bolts actually stripped causing it to pop right out. That would explain the explosion of oil.... Check for a stripped bolt.

No you probably won't...

did the bolt itself strip or did the casting on the motor strip?!?

Depending on which thread is toast... Will depend on how much trouble it will be to fix

The threads in the head stripped out, so I just retapped it and used a different bolt. Not a big deal. The rubber gasket is reusable.
