I know that my 300ex is never going to beat a 400ex or a 250r, but I think I could at least get her to go a bit faster. I have already done alot of little bolt on mods, like sparks pipe and uni filter, re jeted the carb and 1 bigger tooth sprocket on the front. I have also put money into dg bumpers and nerfs, renthal bars and a durablue axle and a couple sets of tires. These are the main reasons I havin't sold it, too much value to me, I just can let it go, to many good memories. I change my oil very regularly and have always used synthedic Amsoil, so as for putting in a high compression pistion, I think it is pointless with a motor in as good of shape as mine, but will deffinitaly consider it after she starts to loose compression. (anyone have a 300ex with a high comprssion piston?Is it alot better) It's a 98 and has never had any engine work at all, it has low hours and is well taken care of. What do you guys think, should I get a 400ex carb and a hotter cam, do you think it is worth it, how much more km/hp would I get, should I get a rev box or somethin of the sort or is that really hard on em? It seems like such a tank I hate to do mods that might compromis reliability, but I love going fast. (I know there will be alot of people saying by a 400ex or a trx450r and I probably would if I could ride it on the road, but I am saving for an xr400r and don't want another quad, just want to keep the 300ex forever)

get a complete exhaust,air filter,400ex carb,330 bore kit, hot cam, port and polish the heads, titanium valve springs,sprockets then you could probably keep witi h a 400ex
