Default installing egt this weekend, have a couple questions

I will be installing an egt gauge on my 400 scrambler this weekend. Where is the proper place to mount the probe on the pipe? The instructions say 6-8 inches. Is this 6-8 inches from where the pipe comes off the engine? Also where do the wires on the other end of the probe hook to? I assume it hooks to the gauge itself but I can't see anywhere they will fit.

Thanks

Ok I figured out where the wires on the other end of the probe hook to. I didn't notice the other wiring that came with the gauge. I guess I should have looked better!

Be sure to read the instructions and understand how the ambient temperature affects the readings. I have one on my 400 and watch it all the time. Outside temp really affects how lean or rich the engine runs.
