Default buy a new needle?

i have set my needle to the 5th position (richest position) and turned that pilot screw out about 4 turns. my headers still glow red. do i have to buy a new needle to go richer? i think i can raise my needle a little more by changing washers on the needle, is that ok? i have to change my pilot to get richer now?

Default buy a new needle?

sorry guys i'm quite new to the jetting.. i change the main jet now to get my needle circuit into a richer range? i have been checking my plugs alot. i am a little confused on the proper way to check. they way i understand is to check the plug after running the bike in each different circuit( pilot, needle, main) for a few minutes. for example, to read the plug for my pilot, i pop a clean plug in, drive around about 1/8th throttle for 5 minutes, pull the plug and read. for needle, i drive around at about 1/2th throttle and for main, drive around at full throttle pull the plug and read. also, i am a little confused on how to read the plug. i am looking at the base ring color or at the ground strap color?
