Default P700 parking brake question

My parking brake doesn't seem to hold the atv very well, can I just tighten the parking brake cable, or is it more complicated than that???

Default P700 parking brake question

I have an 02 prairie, and mine has always been the same way. Never really investigated about tightening the cable or anything. Any info would be great.

Just tighten the wing nut on that cable, down on the swing arm ... you may need to hold the end of the cable with a vise grip, or plyers, to keep the cable's outer case from turning... it's a piece of cake...

Default P700 parking brake question

I have to re-adjust my rear brakes after nearly every ride.

Dariot I think there's something wrong. unless the cable is still strecking from being new. I never have to adjust mine.

Default P700 parking brake question

I adjust the way described avove until I get a good feel from the hand brake and the foot pedal. I like to get her moving pretty quick and stop as fast as possible. I have noticed a rattle like sound coming from the rear when I do this.

By the way I see you got a p700 now..... how does it compare to your modded 650?
