Default How off do you lash your valves?

I have had my quad for about 9-10 months it has some hours on it maybe like 30-50?? Not really sure. I bought it new. I havent checked my valves yet not even the 10 hour check or whatever it is. I dont hear anything sounding like a valve out of adjustment and i dont really feel like tearing it all down again to check if I dont really have too. What do you guys suggest? Also how hard is it to actually check them and lash them about how much time? Yes Im decent with tools also. And im like a freakin nascar pit crew with taking the plastics off, yes i have jetted it many a times already. Another thing is I had a little bit of a hard time getting the jetting to be what i thought was close to right this last time. Could this have anything to do with valves tightening up or loosening up?

Had mine done for me at 10hr, and then I heard that they should be done every 20-30 depending on how you ride.... so I decided I wasnt going to pay $100 every time and I would do it myself. I did mine at 50 hrs, and it took me 1.5 hours, not a hard job at all. The exhaust valves were a little frustrating but thats about it. I did my buddies who has 70 hours on his and have never been done... turning it over with the plug in there was bad comp b4 the adjustment, after I did it there was plenty to be had. From what I understand, as the intake valves beat into the seat, you run the possibiblity of burning them because the wont be sitting corrcetly on the seat because they get closer and closer to the rocker arms. He rode it afterwards and said it was like riding a new bike again. I will be doing mine every oil change, every other at most! You might start getting backfires through the intake, or hard starting if they out of spec.

All you have to do is take off the gas tank and front fenders. Then pop off the valve covers and check em.

Valves are a piece of cake, just take off plastics, take off 4 screws holding the valve cover, remove the two plastic covers on the shifter side case and put ur engine in TDC on the compression stroke and adjust them. I now adjust them every other oil change.
