Default Buying a 2000 xplorer

My brother is looking at buying one of these used. Are these good machines? Is there anything he should be on the lookout for? What is a fair price if its in good condition?

Is that a 250 or 400 Explorer?

I have a 1995 Explorer 400, bought it new and have enjoyed it. I know there were a lot of upgrades between the 1995 and 2000, if it has been taken care of it should be fine. Mine has the three chains and to be honest with you all I have done is clean and oil them two or three times a year. The two stroke has been a realiable engine. I have thought about buying a new 500, but mine is still very reliable.

I bought the wife a 97 Explorer 400 and she loves it. She will not ride anything else, not even my 500.

It has been an excellent quad and very fast and reliable.

Just make sure that you give it a good, close look before you buy.

Peace

Chief,
Looking at the atvs you own I'd guess you have a couple of kids. I have two girls that ride with my wife and myself. They are too little to ride by themselves so they ride with us. We live in Wilmington and I saw you live in Red Oak so I was wondering where your family rides?

Hi there,

Yes, I have 2 little boys, ages 9 and 6. They love riding and can't wait for this extreme cold to go away so we can ride.

We have a 500+ acre farm up in Halifax county that we ride mostly, but there are a couple of little farms that we ride here close to home. Now that Deer season is over, we plan on riding more. We don't like to ride on the big farm during deer season for 2 reasons, 1, we don't want to ruin the hunters days with our quads busting through the woods and 2, we don't wanna get shot. :-)

If you are ever up this way, or just want to ride, give me a shout!
