I am eagerly waiting to see what Kawasaki come out with to compete with the Raptor, 400EX, DS650, and the like. I will say the Lakota sport is a step in the right direction. But really, who is going to buy this machine. The Lakota Sport is the same thing as the Mojave, but with a slightly larger, slightly slower engine, and an auto clutch. For my money, I would just buy the regular Lakota. But I do like the blue color. Thats just my thought on the Lakota Sport.

Gentlemen, quick to step on Kawasaki's collective throats aren't we? The Lakota sport is an option for one segment-existing Lakota fans and those looking for a little sport without the copetence required to operate a manual clutch. There is an all new sport bike coming for 2001-No its not the Lakota sport-and in all likelihood a larger displacement Prairie. Let's just wait instead of bashing them before the release you boys can jump in and bash it after the release and tell us all about how bad *** the Raptor you have on order is and how its going to be the first black and white one in podunk wherever.

Hold up a minute Arizona, You are stepping in the wrong direction. This is one thing I hate about this forum. I can't even voice my opinion about a matter without your guys thinking I a bashing. And this is the second time I have had someone tell me to go out and buy a Raptor. I did not say anything about the LAKOTA SPORT that I would consider bashing. I just said I do not care for the machine, and would rather buy the original Lakota

And you can keep the Raptor. Even though I think it will be a good machine, I do not want to shell out that kind of money. Nor do I have that kind of money right now.

So before you go telling me what I am saying, stop and think. And in defense of the first post, he did add the words "JUST KIDDING" to this post. I guess you do not have a sense of humor. But oh well, what the hell do I care about a person that is going to judge me based on ONE insignificant post.

Sorry Lurch! I guess I must have stubbed my toe when I got out of bed or something and been a little on edge. It is the jumping on everyone and bashing that bothers me in the forums too so I didn't mean to jump down your throat-It just cracks me up to see other people clowning Kawasaki on other threads about a bike they haven't even released. It just shows their ignorance. I wasn't telling you to buy a Raptor-I was mocking the Yamaha faithful that have been so quick to barge onto every forum proclaiming the Raptor as the greatest thing to ever grace our shores. Sorry you caught my venting-I don't go after anyone on these posts and I apologize profusely if you thought I was judging you. I, it should be noted, have no interest in the Lakota sport whatsoever either and anxiously await what will hopefully be a very competitive machine from Team Green.

I'm actually disappointed in Kawasaki. They need to introduce something completely new. The Lokata sport looks exactly like a Mojave in my opinion.

Just bring back the Tecate, Kawasaki!!! Everyone wants one, so just do it!

P.S. make it 300+ cc's this time too!

Arizona, apology accepted.
Kawasakikid, I agree with you. The Tecate was one of the best looking machines in my opinion, and ran great as well. I have not had much experience with on though. It will be neat to see what Kawi brings to the party. My guess is it will be a huge bore 4 stroke like the DS or the Raptor. I would love to see a 2 stroke, but I don't think it will happen. Federal laws are to strict, and some states already ban them during part of the year.

Kawasaki needs to bring out a serious Sport / High Performance ATV soon. Again...Just Joking about the Lakota. I have owned a couple of Kawi's that were trouble free and enjoyable.

Kawasaki needs to release some information on the new quad. I surely hope it is not another big dune cruiser. I would be very upset if I waited this long and the DS650 is still the best suited quad for me. The Cannondale is looking better and better every time I look at it though. Hurry up Kawasaki, we all are getting antsy!
