Hey guys,
I have a friend who just bought a used recon that is in need of a set of tires. I ride sport quads now but on the ol Big Red and 300 4X4 the Blackwaters were the tire of choice. Has any thing changed? Has any one tried ITPs Mud lite tire? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

 

I just replaced the tires on our Recon, and you know what, after doing a lot of research I went with the stock tires. The originals lasted forever, and they give a good ride and traction in the stuff we ride! (We don't have serious mud out here in the desert southwest.)

Somewhere I heard that Blackwaters were discontinued?????????

 

I really liked the stock tires on my Recon, especially the rear Goodyears. I used it mainly on tight wooded trails with some mud holes. Some winter driving through the snow. It always went everywhere the 4x4's would go except up steep hills in the slimy snow. I would be careful that he doesn't weigh the Recon down with an over aggressive tires. The mudlites might be alright. ATR's would be nice but they won't fit.
