Any machine with an engine is as reliable as the person maintaining it.
The blaster...warrior..banshee have been around for years...if they were all that bad..they would have been discontinued years ago.
Change the oil...keep it lubed...and respect it...it will last as long as you want it to.

The Blaster is a great quad. However it gets real small real fast. It seems fast for about the first 6 months but then you start looking for mods to make it faster. If 200cc engin dosn't get to you eventually then the size will. It only has a wheel base that is very small compared to other bikes. So you'll quickly find yourself looking for extended parts, . . . Swingarms, A-amrs, axles.
But, if your not looking for a really suped up bike, then if you look after them they will last for a while. The only thing is keep a eye on that oil injector. I had to learn the hard way.

"Suck up gas" ?
well much of the fuel consumption has to do with jetting and riding style...if your on the gas al the time...well...the fuel goes away quicker. That's the best way I can describe it. The blaster does get better fuel economy than my banshee.
Shav0 has pretty good point...the blaster gets small quick. at least it did for me. But an excellent quad to start with because it is so light and nimble...
When I owned the blaster...we had dream of making an all out fun to ride mx quad....This project was happening while I was upgrading the banshee at the same time...so the blaster kind of went to back burner.
Plans for our project blaster were to start with the chassis...since it is so darn light..it makes a great jumper. Just not in stock form.(too stiff)
We were going to widen and extend the A-arms...lengthen the swingarm. OF course new suspension to match.(Your already at $1500 at this point alone). A 240 engine kit...airbox...handle bars, hydro brakes, rims and tires, get rid of tors, stronger/wider rear axle. At this point your up over $2500 in addons.
I believe this would make a fun little mx quad that could be tossed all over the place. The problem was that the banshee consumed most of my "play" money at the time...so off to another guy the blaster went.
It all comes down to what your looking to get out of a machine....after thinking about it...buying a stock blaster and then putting another 3 plus grand into it to make me happy with it was not the ticket for me. The banshee was though!
As far as being all around ridable? sure..the blaster holds it's own...it's not a mud bogger...nor is it a hill shooter...but it will get you there with a grin on your face.

does a stock blaster climb hills good? would it do good in the sand dunes? and how is the suspension on it?
