more top speed in warrior

Default more top speed in warrior

what can i do to raise the top speed of my warrior without putting more than 250 bux into it? i have a 1987 warrior...

You got a pipe yet? buy a used one. That should cost about 100 or less. Then buy a 120-140 dollar cam. (will cost 200 if you want a really highpo one because they take new springs, but a hotcam dosent). Badabing, you went from 18hp to about 23 (guessing). Considering its an 87 though it will prolly need new rockers and rocker shafts [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] they cost your arm + your leg. Maybe you can pick some up from a junker though. I think I payed 40 bucks for my complete set new but that was on ebay. Or better yet maybe you can just have a local machine shop polish up the wear pads on the stockers. You will lose a bit of lift which will cost some power but you wont really notice.

BTW, pipe will get you from about 18 to about 19-20.

No, the guy porting my motor keeps taking longer and longer. I cant complain though because hes not charging much and hes doing it mostly for the fun of it. Speaking of which, thats a way to gain some more top speed [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] I would have only had about 350 invested in this motor if I hadnt bought the 34mm carbs.
