Dune Devil- Good luck!! I looked into doing it last year. The fees add up in a hurry. Looked like it would cost 2500 dollars to enter and run. You got to be a member of the ------ (my mind is blank at the moment) and have insurance that meets there specs. I will look for the info. I got as far as them faxing me the forms to enter. You do it and i will come be on your pit team.

Thanks for the info!

I already have my Trail bike set up to do a race like this. I would just have to come up with the money and insurance.

I am seriousely thinking of doing this. It is something that I know I could. I just need to get the ball moveing to get out there!

Thanks 14mins, for the offers on pit team. I really think you should do the race instead of the pit team. What do you say, want to look into it this year.

Ward, you know that you would be welcome! I think you should also look into doing the race with 14mins and myself. But if you just want to watch and drink in celebration, im with ya!!! (After the race)

If anyone has any experience with this race, please contact me.

If you can afford it DO IT. It's a blast and all of the people up there are great.

Lower the quad like you would for TT or flat track, same type of tires. Jet for 10,000 foot elevation - it'll be a little lean on the bottom and rich on top but without EFI or a dial-a-jet system there's not much you can do.

You need to get as much air through the engine as possible, and bump the compression up as much as possible. There's only a couple of tight corners, most of the course is high speed. Motorcycle do 100+ through the campground.

Get aclimatized to the altitude if possible, riding mountain bikes at around 8-10,000 foot level. Not so much for the race as for the wait at the top. 14,000 feet is a long way up, and if you come from sea level like me you may get a bit of altitude sickness during the wait to come back down. Drink lots of water. While it may be in the 70s at the start, the top will be very cold, so try to get warm clothes to the top for the finish.

Have you run in this race? Did you race a DS650? Have you ran a dial a jet on a ds650? I need your info if you answered yes to any of these.

Dune Devil, I will pit for you.

I ran it on a flat track motorcycle. I jetted it according to the instruction from other riders at the Peak. The DS I raced was on a 1/4 mile oval.
