03 quest 650 trans
#1
I have about 60 hours on my 03 650 Quest and just had a new transmission put in. The dealer said i sheared off a key on the internal shift lever, and broke part of the inside of the tranny case. The dealer made it right(warranty). I have ridden the machine a few times with the new(?) tranny, and back to square one. The bike is a bear to shift when it warms up, and not on flat ground....The bike is in the shop a second time, after I tried to ride it to my deer stand. I thought the tranny was slipping (would not hardly pull itself in gear), but the dealer just called and said I had ice buildup on the clutch??? They also said they were turning the idle down to make shifting easier. The machine sat in my truck over night, and I had crossed a creek a couple of times on the day prior. It had gotten below freezing over night, but did not think ice should be on the clutch. I never park this machine in a heated garage, and bought it to hunt. This has been a great machine for hunting/trail riding/doing chores when it runs/shifts/and does not have ice build up on the clutch. Any similar probs. or recommendations?
