Running a high octane fuel(higher than 89) will give you no benefit what so ever. All that a high octane fuel does is take advantage of high compression, if your machine has higher than normal compression. If you are running on stock engine compression, unless your bike is a high performance bike out of the box like a YFZ, then regular gas will give you as much performance as 93 or higher.
A stock prarie will see absolutely no improvement from any octane higher than 89. All that running a higher octane fuel does is waste money because your engine compression can not take advantage of it.

The P650 owners manual says the same as yours. If you go by the manual, you would use antiknock index of 87 or 93 which is the number shown on the pump of course.
Mine runs fine on 85, but I try to use 87. The manual also says you can use gasohol but to avoid methanol. Methonol is no longer sold around here.

I thought that 93 was a cleaner burning fuel than 87. I also think that it is not that much more i just don't like going cheap on my toys. Plus i run that fuel and alot higher octane in my cars and trucks.
