i do what i think is the general maintenance.... that includes the whopping list of oil changes, filter cleanings (oil/air) and umm... general cleaning!

after just reading the post about greasing the bearings.... im thinking i need to get in gear and make a check off list of stuff to go over on the quad....

if someone has a list of everything that needs to be done, or if there is a list that has step by steps on stuff that would be great....

i have had my ds for a few months now, with probably 40-50 hours on it.

a few things i have done.... is oil/lube the chain... (my riding buddies suggested i do it before hitting the dunes, so i sprayed the chain lightly with the oil.... how often does this need to be done? do i need to wipe it off after spraying it? (of course once i start riding it wicks the fluid onto everything....) (every ride i already check the chain tension to make sure its not too tight or sloppy)

Coolant change.... this i havnt done yet.... what is the glycol/water mix ratio for the ds? (yes i would look it up in my owners manual but i am currently lacking that.... but am getting a new one ) and how often should this be changed? (does the system need to be flushed or cleaned besides just emptying it out/refilling?)

valves..... someone posted a very helpful link on checking the tolerances.... i have never had this done since i have owned the quad....is this somthing i should do or somthing my local shop could do a lot easier? (most people said it was "easy" but the step by step was about 5 some pages long with tools i dont have such as calipers..... )

Greasing.... i have done the nipples on the a-arms... how often should i grease them? (i have done them twice so far) does the type of grease matter?


Oil tank strainer cleaning? (i just remembered when i first started reading/posting here there was a warning about cleaning this out.... can i get a re-explanation?)

that is all i can think of right now.... im a NOOB when it comes to this sort of thing...so i try to get as much info as i can by reading articles/posts

i have done searches on a few of the things, but i just get posts/threads mentioning it, which dosnt help a whole lot
