i have a 99 400ex with a 440 stroker kit in it. it has been jetted and i run a k&n air filter. I recently just purchased this quad and i love it. I am also not very familiar with it so bare with me. My question is this. The other day after doing some riding, i noticed that my overflow on the carb was dripping at a steady pace, so i turned the gas **** to the off position. Later after i got home, my truck bed had gas in the bed and the overflow was dripping again. is this normal? i thought that the overflow would only drip after excessive choking, or if the machine was tipped up. Am i correct or should i just allways just trun the gas off? This seems very odd to me. Any one with some tips would be appreciated !! thanks

What has happen is that the float is working up and down as you are driving with the quad in the back and the gas has to go some place. It is going out the overflow tubes. You will also get this when you ride a wheelie and see gas coming out the overflow tubes. If gas come out with the quad just sitting on the ground, the float is sticking. I think that the 400 float is plastic and can not be ajusted. But, you might have a piece of dirtin the needle valve.

skunky email me at zootue@earthlink.net
You need to come out to the mx track in Vegas. The quad class needs more racers.
