YFZ/TRX/Gas Gas shootout
#1
i picked up my march issue of dirtwheels, and according to them the horsepower between the trx and yfz stock the yfz is a little bit higher but a yfz with some gyt-r stuff and a honda with the full hrc kit the the difference begins to widen. clearly the yfz responds to mods better. in drag races the yfz and trx were neck and neck but they did say the trx was more comfy while the yfz is a better flyer. the yfz won that shootout by the way.

Ya read that 2 days ago they really braged up the YFZ ( I love it ) they kept stating that the HONDA would be a great trail machine if it had a reverse and a electric start

the trx was meant for mx i guess it just wasnt cut out for the job. if it doesnt perform well on the track like it was intended to do what will the trx really stand out in? no electric start or reverse for trails and woods..

Once you learn to just pin the Gas Gas wide open and hold pressure up on the shifter the Gas Gas will kill the others in a drag race. It hits the rev-limiter so fast you cant shift it as fast as you need to to make it work for you. When you learn how to do this it will sound like a Pro-stocker going down the quarter mile. It has a very good gear box in it with a long shifter so it shifts real smooth. You won't even here the rev-limiter because as soon as it hit it will shift.
It is 30lbs more if you don't put the 14lbs more gas in it, but it has alot stronger parts on it and you don't have to beef anything up in order to race it.There is so many aftermarket parts you don't have to buy to make it race ready that you have to spend about $16,000 (including the atv) on the YFZ to make it as good for GNCC Pro racing.

Don't get me wrong here....I own a 03 Raptor and as far as trail or mx....it doesn't really matter about the shootout....Look at what runs with the yam, hon,...its suzuki 400...they rebuild these machines from top to bottom to make them whatever they want too....This shootout goes for the typical everyday rider....But I SURE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THAT YAM 450....ITS BAD.
