Check the carb and see if is properly seated in the intake manifolds. We just put a full LRD system in and jetted the biggest problem was getting the carb back in the intake manifolds. It might look right but make sure their is no gap under the carb. It will backfire a lot if it has a air leak.

first off, taking out the baffle totally unbalances ur machine, im not surprised its backfiring, you put it back in and it shot 30 feet out? wtf man did u even put the screw back in? no offense but u sound like u dont know wtf ur doing

Sounds like you either have a rip in the rubber intake manifold or a leak. If it were a problem with the pilot jet, the backfiring would have occurred way before the 15th hour.

Does it always backfire, or backfires more when you rev it high, or put a load on the engine?
I know When I rebuilt my quad we turned it on (parking break engauged) and it made some interesting sounbs when we reved it, like someone was shooting. Once it was off it was all good. If it backfires everytime the piston fires, it is more than likely a switch. If it backfires every once in a while, it could be an air leak, or jetting problem. When you take the baffles out it creates more flow out of the engine, without rejetting it could cause some backfiring, and lean conditions. I suggest properly reinstalling the baffle, then working on your problem.
