I have been using Castrol superclean on my bike and I found it is tarnishing the aluminum parts.....How do we keep them shnig without alot of effort....and once they are clean how do we maintain them.....And also what should we use to wash our bikes to prevent this from happening again after we polish up the parts??

as far as easy i'm not sure. iused that cleaner also and it turned my aluminum white. the local paint shop sells some liquid ruse polihing stuff it seems to work real well but it isn't spray on spray off it takes some elbow grease. after you get it back to shiney if you use it every cleaning it isn't to bad

 

Fine steel wool and Mother's polish...some elbow grease and rags!

 

Engine bright is what we used to use on the polished engines on custom harleys, and on street bikes with polished frames and such, I
have also used aerosol simple green for wheels. I would try them on one spot to see how they did before i sprayed the whole quad down.

castrol got a harley I used to ride. try MOTHERS mag and aluminum polish to get some shine back. The more elbow grease you put to it the more shine your gonna get.

 

I probably could whip it up with my dremel......

 

I use autosol or mothers polish and a drill with a buffing wheel. Dremil in tight spots. saves on my arms fallin off[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

 

Mine shines like chrome. Go to O'Reily's and buy some 3M heavy duty buffing compound, once you get that done really good, it will start to shine nicely. Follow that up with mother's, and whala! Chrome like shine![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Use Mothers and steel wool if bad and if real bad use steel wool and wd40. Then polish it with mothers. I also use Neverdull thats treated cotton in a can. It good to maintain the shine.
