Default Pro Design kill switch for LT 80, which wire??

I am putting a pro design tether kill switch on my kids LT80. According to the directions, I need to connect the long wire on the kill switch to the engine triger pulse wire coming off the stator. Huh?! My friend said that this wire should be black with a yellow line but, where is this wire? Which side of the motor is this wire on? I dont even know where the stator is on this bike. I put one off these on my Banshee but this one is stumping me. Any help would be great.

I could send you a wiring diagram but it's for a '93. I think they're close to the same.I see yours is a '03. better yet, if you're dealer is any kinda help, he should copy the '03 diagram for you. would take them a matter of 2-3 minutes to do it.OR, they could tell you which wire.

i think the stator is behind the metal rotor cover on the left side of the engine(after removing case). I'm no expert in that sense, but I think it's the same as a magneto. you shouldn't need to take that apart, only find the wire going there. my diagram shows this as a black wire with a red tracer. pretty sure it's the only electrical component inside the case, everything else is external.

good luck.

red/black wire is ignition. this is where you splice in the kill switch.
