will a ds beat a 82 cr500 dirt bike if not what dirtbike will it beat stock cr500 vrs piped ds650 i wana run my freind this week before i put any more parts on ds and then i am gona race him after to c what i gained

do you think i can beat him now i am a good rider

My 720 has smoked a few 250 motocross bikes but the open class 2 stroke bikes are pretty tough to catch with the right rider. You gotta remember a CR500 puts out around 55 HP stock and weighs around 220 lbs. I'm going to be picking up a new left over '03 KX500 in the spring and getting it bored & stroked to 580cc, I can pretty much say without reservation that this bike will put a serious hurtin' on my 720. It's plain and simlpe power to weight ratio....

 

stock your in trouble, but your friend will have fun. do some mods and you'll start beating bikes the cr 500 and kx 500 are hard to beat though

 

Whrdskn has video in his website of me mopping a KX500 with a light kid on it months ago...

My friend has a cr570 or 580 high compression with all the goodies and he runs a nitro gas blend, I CAN outrun him up comp hill by a few bike lengths..

The dirtbikes are tough to beat, every now and then I see an old school honda Cr 500 pumped up that runs good. Tinker with your Ds long enough and after 30+k you will be playing with all the dirtbikes.

 

I have never been beat by a cr 500 with my ds!!!


But I have never raced one either( why ruin a perfect record) lol.

 

If your friends CR is an 82' then he will be down in HP. atleas not 55HP like the water-cooler CR's had. If he bike is in perfect running condition, I would say race him in the SAND!! to garantee victory!
