GPS / Speed
#2
I don't personally use one, though I have on my father's snowmobile .. he has a magellan 315 GPS. Most all GPS's have a mode which displays your current speed. It's supposed to be very accurate, though I couldn't say for sure.

Mine is a Garmin handheld. I'm not sure off hand what model but it's one of the cheaper ones. It is supposed to be more accurate than radar. It has a top speed function and a trip distance average speed and a few other related mesurements. It will freeze up if you get it near the electronics so I put it in a backpack and ran it down the road for a few laps to measure my top speed. It said 60.5mph on my 86 LT250 which seems pretty accurate for the gears/tires I had on it.
