Default Chalk another 01 tranny

Only this time it's the 5th gear wheel dog that broke off (it turns 3rd gear) instead of the 4th gear wheel dogs that turn 2nd gear.

Found the dog in the clutch case side a month ago at 4sw's. Took it out and rode it the rest of the weekend. Gotta love these Raptor trannys. Only difference between this tranny repair and the first one is about $1100.00.

Thanks Mike, if you read this. Thanks even if you don't. . That white tranny sticker you sent me will promptly go underneath the rear fender for all who ride behind to see. LOL.

Bummer - I feel your pain...been there twice !!

I was testing out my repaired 02 tranny for the first ride in the dunes this weekend. I heard a weird occasional "clunk" coming from the motor. I thought it was the tranny but it turned out to be a broken chain side link. One side broke in half and was hitting my front guard - so much for the high zoot Sidewinder Ti fancy crap ?? Luckily, no other carnage.....

Luckily fisher.

I should clarify that it was on my blue Raptor with the 01 tranny still inside. It was not on my black/white Raptor that has the 02 gear update already.

I just put one back together with the new gears. Decided to take the other one apart before it goes, pulled all the gears out of it. They looked really good. Then threw them in the garbage, waiting for the new set

At least it's two different quads for me, so far. Yes 5th gear. I was surprised myself. The kids were hearing some noises from the clutch side. I took it apart and there the dog was. I figured well, I got at least 1 dog maybe two left so I rode it for a while to make sure was all well, then only let them ride it to and from the hill and other places of interest we went to the rest of the weekend. Little did I know the gear actualy had 3 dogs left. LOL 2nd gear and all the rest for that matter were in perfect looking shape. Go figure.
