Rancher front Tires!?!
#1
Hi,
I was trying to find out if the front tires on the Rancher are supposed to be straight up and down or toed out or what. Mine look a little funny. If i am looking at the front of the bike it looks like the top of the tires are leaning in towards the middle of the bike and the bottom of the tires are out farther. I was wondering if this is how they are supposed to be? And if not, what is the procedure of straightening them up. I read somewhere about using a chalk line or something running from the front to back but not sure if it was here or on another site. I also thought i read where Honda has all there fronts toe in or something.
TIA

jboz,
From the 350's service manual:
Toe-out 3/4" +/- 9/16"
It has been my experience that the less toe out the better (I set mine at 3/16"). Easier steering, more responsive, etc.
To adjust your toe out, tie a string around the middle of the four tires. Then make your adjustments from there.

My tires are near vertical. They are slightly father apart at the bottom than at the top. Toe In or Out is in reference front & back of the tire (horizontal). If you have a neutral (0") to in/out then the Rancher corners really quick. I didn't like it, others might. Currently my tires are 3/8 inch toe out.
Good luck
Good luck
