Default foreman 98 400: What is a safe lift height 1-2-3 inch?

I really don't want to risk messing things up (i.e. cv joints, driveshafts, anything else). So what would be a truly safe lift height. I'm thinking of making my own. Thanks for the help guys

Copy someone who's done it already (ex. highlifter). If they've already done all the research, you can bebefit from them. I've seen mostly 2" kits.

A lift kit with or without a big tire kit on a 400 doesn't cause any pronounced problems if ridden corretly.

The 450 Foreman on the other hand does not do well with a lift kit and tires if ridden roughly. I don't know how many come in with broken rear drive shaft because of it's angle after the lift and extra weight of the tires.

The 450 has this problem, because of the 1" longer shocks. After the lift kit, it is going overboard. I had an arguement with Scott from HL a couple of years ago about this....and while his argument made since, he still couldn't explain why I have so many 450s coming in for shaft replacement and never a 400.
