Default help after 200es rebuild.....timing?

hey all, just rebuilt the motor on my 200, (84), and put the timing where i thought it was supposed to be..and it wont run....it appears not to be sucking fuel/air into the cylinder, though it has compression. i think maybe i have the timing off 180, but im not sure...i see something that resembles timing marks on the flywheel and on the cam sprocket, but im not sure what to line them up with. if i can figure out where tdc is, i can just unbolt the cam sprocket and turn the engine untill the timing marks line up, but again im not sure where the marks are supposed to be...oh, and does anyone know what the valve clearances are supposed to be? i adjusted them to 4 thous, same as my old 400ex, but dont know if this is right. ---guess i shoulda bought a service manual---thanks 3wheelers.

Valve Clearance is 0.002" on the intake and exhaust.

Bring the piston to TDC.

Take the inspection cap off of the flywheel cover and line the "T-line" mark up with the notch in the cover. You should be pretty lose if the piston is at the top of it's stroke.

Line the "o" mark on the cam sprocket with the notch on the rocker over.
