on soldering, there are a couple of ways to do it,

1 take and place some solder on your iron and then aply one end of the wire to it until it pulls the solder through the wire, seperately do this to the other one. Once the are both tinned then you can hold them together and touch the iron to them to fuse them.

2 this is how I like to do it, twist the wires togethe with about 1/2 inch of tail, hold the iron to the tail until it starts to heat up then feed the solder to the top of the wire until there is enough solder to cover the whole tail. let it cool and then fold it back against itself and wrap it in tape.

Dont forget to use flux prior to tinning your wires. Also you dont want the tinning to go up into the wire shielding.

The "little brass piece" is the port for injecting oil into the engine - it has to be capped or you will be running in a lean condition. The easiest way to cap it is to go to the Autoparts store and get some rubber caps for vacuum lines - slide the cap on, clamp it - your done.

Hard to do with the cylinder on, but with it off you can remove the oil injector nozzle and tap the hole for a fine thread 5/16 bolt. Works great. Just use a real short one.
