oil pump drive

oil pump drive
have a 2002 tb250 after removing the oil pump from engine, i cant get the drive gear out of the case, i am sure there i have overlooked the obvious, any one who can help would be very appreciated, thank you

page C12 of this maual shows the asembly of the oil pump,
it could be that you have to turn the gear out as well as pull it, just an idea.
