Default tires for eiger

I'd like to know what replacement tires eiger owners have outfitted their rides with. Are you happy with your choice's? I have a buddy who put blackwaters on his yamaha, won't buy them again, rough ride, poor traction. Anybody else?

I've been wantin mud lites until I saw them in person. They don't have nearly the tread of 589s. But they are supposed to ride real nice.

Yeah, but I was also considering the amount of trail riding I do. I can't imagine having all that extra tread would make for a nice ride if your not in mud.

I have an 04 Eiger with 26" Mud Lites and they work great. Excellent traction in mud. Great ride on all types of terrain.

The 26" have more tread. I've been thinking about the EPI spring kit and 26" for my Eiger. I'm going to try to borrow a set of 589s to mtry out . several of my buddies have em and love em. But, I'm still running the original dunflops and I seem to go everywhere they go.
I don't know how long the mudlites wear but I know the 589s wear a l o n g time. If the mudlites wear this good then I would get em.
Eigerrider04, hows the tread life? And welcome to the forums!

I've been leaning toward the mudlites myself, i've heard they offer a smooth ride. What are 589's ? I haven't looked around locally to see what they carry, that will probably figure into what i purchase. Easy rider did you notice and loss of performance with the mudlites?

Mud lights are cheaper and I have never read abything bad about them.
589s are atractor tread looking 6 ply tire that seems to last forever and I've seen them transform a 300 2wd Rancher into a great trail machine. I believe they will make the ride a lil more harsh on solid pavement but not much diff in the dirt. If I can get one of my buddies to swap me for a lil while I'll let you know.
In the mean time go over to the Kawasaki forum and check out a thread titlted "Windrock Ride Report and Tire performance Notes" (you can type it inmto the search box if it isn't on the first page).
PS my stock dunflops seem to take me everywhere everybody else goes but they don't inspire much confidence.

I only have about 75 miles on my Eiger so far, but I made it a point to go through all types of terrain to see how it held up. The Mud Lites did cause a slight loss of acceleration, I think, but I still have plenty of power. I have a friend with a Prairie 400 on stock tires, and he can outrun me. I have, however, driven into mud holes and stopped, with my wife on the back, and made it out fine. He has buried his Prairie in these mud holes with just him on it. His front tires are down to no tread, though. I have absolutely no complaints, but its not like I have thousands of miles on them.
