LT 50 need a little advice
#1
Hey Guy's I'm looking to buy my son a 2004 LT 50 he's 4 years old. does anyone own one? how are they? are they worth the money? how much did you pay otd? do they have decent power? are they crap? I was also looking at the preditor 50 any thoughts on that one? I know the preditor is about 35 pounds more in weight, thats a lot for a bike that small. Thanks for the advice. Jason

I don't have a new one... in fact mine's antique... 1985 model.
It just runs and runs and runs!!! I paid $275 for it....
I recommend the 2 stroke over the 4... obviously less moving parts, cheaper to fix (If it ever does break)
and they can be made to snort pretty good (Uncork the intake/exhaust)
Just my $.02

We have an 02, don't remember what we paid. msrp is like 1799 or so. Bulletproof little machine. Not a lot of power stock if you are trying to go up hills or in the sand, but it is a great beginner bike. My son was 4.5 when he got it, he is now 7 and ready for more power. I think it should have pretty good resale, that is why I went with the zuki instead of some of the other "off brand" of quads. I don't know about the predator 50 , other than I have not "heard"anything wonderful about them.

I also have one, they are great bike. I would recomend one. After your kids learn how to ride real good you can take out all restricter plates , one on the exhaust and the other in the intake along with removing the end cap on the exhaust. This makes the bike quite a bit faster .

I'm planning on getting a LT50 also. My daughter will be 4 in June and I plan to start her out earlier than the stated age 6 recommendation. I've looked at many of the other makes and I think Suzuki is the best thing going. Yamaha just announced a Raptor 50 that is a 4 stroke, but it is several hundred $ more. The Suzuki 50 has been around for 20 years, but they just updated the chassis a couple of years ago and added 2" of travel front and back. My daughter sits on one just right. Not too big, nor too small. Suzuki will be better than any of the Taiwan makes for resale, and the reliability and parts availability are not an issue.
Now, I'm torn between the LT50 and KFX50. I have a yellow Vinson and a green V Force, and my daughter wants a yellow and a green one too.

Thanks for the Imput guy's. i think I'm going to go with the suzuki. It fits my son the best. He might out grow it fast but it seems like the resale value is pretty good on these little 50's. I also like the rappy 50 but I think it's a little big.
