I use simple green and an old green scratch pad. Make sure that the scratch pad is old so that it is softer that a new one(don't want to scratch those pipes!). Then just polish them if you want.
DON"T USE WD40 ON YOUR PIPES!!! if you do they will get a dingy look when hot.
clean them well and then shine them up with a good non abrasive metal polish. Wipe them with a clean rag and your all set.
wd40 actually helps keep your pipes from blueing so bad. Kind of has the same effect as pipe cleaner from fmf. I buy it by sack fulls at Sams Club. Works great on everything!
