Default riding dunes 2 stroke or 4

hey, looking for low maint. quad around $5,000 new. I've only ridden utility before. I'd like something I could ride on the dunes here in kermit, texas. I don't want any thing to crazy but something that can get some air and pull up the front when I get some experience. So what's better 2 or 4 stroke for climbing some sand hills (kermit has pretty good dunes as far as I know). Thanks for any comments you might have.

There are alot of bikes out there now, but you will want to consider your weight, your riding skill and really what you like to do. Reliability wise and technology wise, you are better off with at Four Stroke.

If you are a bigger rider, then the DS or Raptor may suit you.

The Predator, KFX400 are smaller and closer to your price range.

If you want the serious smaller/medium sized rider performance, then go for the YFZ450 or the Honda 450r, but they are a bit more $$.

I am 6'1" tall and 250#. I love my DS650 Baja X. I do lots of duning, hill carving and jumping. It does me just fine. Its plenty fast in stock form and very reliable and affordable.

I had an 03 Predator, but I outgrew it and $$ I was going to put into it was better spent moving to a bigger and more buildable bike. DS.

Anyways, everyone has their own favorite. I hope this helps. Enjoy whatever you get
