My new Bombardier Quest 650 Max (115 miles on odometer) backfires out the exhaust when I kill the engine. Does anybody else have this problem? What's causing this and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance for your help.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

 

Sometimes this means you're running a tad lean.

I know these are diferent engins. But my 500 trax was also backfiring at shut off. The big problem was the impossible colume shift that I called the dealer about and we agreed that the idle needed to be slower. Alas the backfiring stop along with a now smooth colume shift. I know different engin and model--but same engin builder--Rotax.

 

Sounds like the timing is off.

 

I've figured out how to adjust the idle, but how do I adjust fuel mixture and timing? Is this something I just need the dealer to check out? Thanks for the responses, guys.

 

Yeah let your dealer fix it. Its new and Its the dealers responsibility. Could be sucking air around the carb. boots.
