Quick question, the local honda dealer has one for $3400. It has a rebuilt top end, esr exhaust, no cracks in plastic, and everything (lights, brakes) works fine. Should I talk them down to $3000 and pick it up? I have an 83 250r atc, will the trx be faster? Thanks for the input.

 

im pretty sure your atc will be faster considering it weighs less but the 250r is a sweet quad.

 

Sorry Honda guys, but what should i get: The trx for $3400, or an 02 banshee for $4200? Also, will the banshee be a green or red sticker? Thanx

 

the banshee is better for draggig hill shooting and dunning. I have a 87r, sounds like a good deal the 87 moter is faster but the atc is lighter.

 

Get the R, you can always make it faster in the end, but the handling on the R is the best IMO. I ride 75% dunes on my R and love it. And I paid about the same amount your looking at.

Look where youll be riding the most and what youll be doing. Mod costs will also be another factor, for the Banshee, you will have to buy two of alot of things, pistons, exhaust, carb....etc.

 

the liquid cooled 87 trx250r motor is muuuuuuuuch faster then the air cooled 83

 

So which is faster, my 83 250r atc or the trx? The reason I'm asking is because I probably won't do any more mods to it for reliability reasons, so I want it to be faster already. Oh i just found out it also has a ported and polished head. Thanx

 

No comparison! Buy the TRX! Faster, smoother, safer, better resale, liquid cooled ect.........

 

why is this even a debate? the trx will blow the atc away

 

The 83 ATC is 17 hp stock and the 87 TRX is 38 hp stock. What do you think will win?
