Does the z-400 actually have 6 inches more ground clearance than the 450r
#1
I wanted to know because I am going to buy a quad and was wondering does the z-400 have more ground clearance then the 450r or is it just that honda and suzuki measure it differently? I need the extre ground clearance because i am going to ride mostly trails.

Suzuki is boasting 10.4" of ground clearance for the Z400.
I just can't see how that could possibly be right. Minimum ground clearance is what you want to know which is typically at the back of the swing arm....right? Interesting.

NO! Suzuki cheats and measures under the engine. Everybody else is honest and measures under the swingarm!
All the chain drive bikes are pretty much the same ~4-5 inches. Only the shaft drives have an advantage here.

yamaha used to claim 10" for the raptor..remember that?...they dont anymore b/c its a deceptive claim - they were measuring under the engine and not the swingarm which has maybe 4" for them. most bikes do have good clearance under the engine... right at this second, i cant think any sport bike that has 10" AT THE SWINGARM or its lowest point??? Usually, this a better claim to make for utility bikes.
