got a chance to try out my billet end cap on my baja today
#1
I got my mr horsepower billet end cap on and tried it at the dunes today and it made a very noticeable gain in overall performance. I have installed a big gun cdi,k&n air filter.re jetted (170),and put on the end cap and it has made my baja more responsive at all rpm levels.I raced two different piped yfzs today in a 300 foot uphill sand drag race and the first one i was able to beat by about a quad length once and we were almost even the second race. The second yfz that i raced had a rider that couldnt have weighed much more than 110 or 120 lbs and even with me at 250 lbs he was only taking me by maybe a quad and a half in 300 feet so i was impressed with the performance gain i got with the end cap.It would seem that the billet end cap is as good of a performer as most pipes that i have seen on ds 650s and at the price it is a bargain.

I modded my own end cap and also enjoyed a nice hp gain. I'm sure you can gain a little more with an aftermarket pipe, but I don't know how much more. Congrats on hangin' with the YZF's. I haven't raced one yet, but will be looking for them next weekend.

sandman430-The billet end cap is probably not legal for sound but i can change back to my stock cap in just a few minutes so i may just run it when i want to do some racing.I was doing better racing against cathys 440 with the baja than i was with the raptor so that is not too bad for no internal mods.We tried the big gun rectifier on cathys 440 and you may want to look into one for alexs because it made quite a difference for her.

duneittilludie,
You actually noticed a difference after adding the rectifier? I'm a little sceptical though, are you sure you didn't make any other changes etc?

Blackhawk-I was skeptical too but the rectifier made a noticeable difference in the way the 440 motor reacts when you nail the throttle and it gave a power increase also.Me and the wife ride a lot and when we get a new mod wether it is a bolt on or internal we do a few runs against each other to set a standard then we see if the changes make a difference and this one was easy to see from the start. The claims by big gun are that the rectifier will make for an"easier spin of the flywheel making more power and adding at the same time more spark to the plug".How much of the claims by big gun are true i dont know but the results we got were pretty impressive.
