Do you think that Honda made first gear tall on the new 450 so that riders couldn't regear for more top speed? If you were to go taller in front , or smaller in the rear for more top speed, it would make first gear to tall. What do you think?

I think they did first tall so that you wouldn't be popping a wheelie all the time. I did some trail riding this weekend, and I have to say that I never got out of 2nd the whole time! If you are going to ride trail, you are going to have to get things lower somehow. I think even for desert, I am going to go one tooth bigger in back, to start with, and who knows from there???
