Default Warm Weather Riding Gear

It has been hot here for a couple of weeks. Had to cancel a trip to the low desert (places like Glamis or Ocotillo Wells) because it is going to be in the mid 90's this weekend! That got me thinking about warm weather riding gear. I have used the MSR "vented" jersey in the past and liked it. I looked at their new system X vented pants, and tought they were ridiculous. They may be vented, but they are heavily padded, and I feel hot just looking at them.

In addition, Moose has their "Sahara" gear which is vented.

Anybody have any experience or opinions about these or any other brands???

Alot of companies are making 3/4 sleeve and shortsleeve jerseys now. When it gets really hot, I wear shorts, but wear socks that come up past the shorts so there is no exposed skin, and it seems like you get better air flow in your boots and on your legs that way.

freestlye pants like Shift and Axo that have removable bottoms tend to work best for me.

O'neal has a new set out that are pretty nice also.

just wear yer riding boots. head pipes hurt

Ya, most brands are coming out with some good venting technology..I know when I ride when its hot as h*ll..I wear my no fear vented jersey with the sleeves pulled up and like high flyinraptorrider..I wear some fox knee high vented socks with my boots and it does get a lot more airflow to your legs then pants...plus I got those dew rags (just like a bandana but they are rolled up and you put them in the freezer) which keep my head cool if I'm wearing my helmet.

Thor just came out with brand new pants for 2004 that are zip offs. they run about 80 retail and are called static. They come in khaki and black, They have 3 pockets i think and im about to buy some soon. Also fleshgear makes pants that zip off. if you have a pair of boots like alpinestars then i think u will be okay since they go up pretty high and theres barely a gap. Also i just ride in a t shirt in hot weather. If not get a really thin jersey with nothing underneath.
