250R throttle help??
#1
I got a 87 250R and the throttle has way too much play. I tore it apart and it is completly wore out inside. Does anyone know the part number for the complete unit or know of a good aftermarket replacement??
Thanks

pretty well every part is worn out on the inside I was hopping to get a complete assembly. I found this problem when I couldnt get the machine to idle but if you pull the slack out of the throttle it idled fine
PS I priced the individual pices and it gets pretty expensive

You could find a good used assembly on ebay for a good price but on another note, you shouldn't have to have tension on the throttle cable to make it idle. The idle should be maintained by the idle screw, this is usually an indication that your pilot jet is too rich or your air screw needs adjusting. The cable should have slack.

I just installed a 42 pilot and it didnt seem to help and my air screw is set at 1&7/8 turns out. The idle screw dont seem to do anything I guess ill have to keep playing with it It seems to run great just wont idle. I am at 1000' above see level and temps between -10 and 0 celcius jetting is 42 pilot 160 main mods are .060 over aftermarket pipe and open air box with foam filter. If anyone has any suggestion let me know

If your having to pull out slack you could either have a bad cable that is old and worn out or maybe a collapsed slide spring in the carb. Check em out. Possibly just lube the cable and if your lucky that may fix your problem
