Default 250R throttle help??

DaBeechMan : If the cable is too slack will it let the slide too far down and cut off the fuel?? Or how does a bad cable or slide spring affect the idle??

THANKS

no, if a cable is a little too long you adjust it with the carb top and the adjustment on the throttle housing. If its too "short" it may not be short at all, just hanging up in the cable housing causing it not to slide freely. If its a spring they do wear out sometimes and that could be a problem as well

If in your case its idling too high the sticky cable can cause the slide to be open a little more then it should. Granted i cant hear just how high its idling but its just a theory. If the spring is bad it just wont have enough strength to close the slide

my problem isnt that it idling too high its that it wont idle at all It just dies when you let off the throttle otherwise it works great. Is it possible for a stretched cable to let the needle and slide down too far??

Have you messed with the idle screw (twisting the choke switch up and down)? Dumb question but have to ask.

Default 250R throttle help??

maybe I go this backwards but my manual says the choke is the air screw and the screw on the body is the idle screw?? anyways I got the choke one at 1 & 7/8's turns out. I am also wondering if it might be my needle? Also how does the needle affect it being rivh or lean or does it??

Im guessing its just your idle is set to low, the needle doesnt really affect how its idling.
