help me choose tires for my ds
#1
i am shopping for new tires for my ds. The stock oihtsu sp? sidewalls are to soft for my liking. I just put a huge gouge in one of my fronts. I want to keep the stock 22 fronts and 20 rears. I ordered a 15t front sprocket for the better acceleration and low end torque. Anyone have any suggestions on what tires to get? the rears i want flat tires and what about the front? should i get rounded front tires or flat? The only flat fronts that i can think of are bandits.
the only tires i canot stand are holeshots so those arent an option.
thanks for your opinons.

I run razr's in the 22/20 variety. They don't hook up as well as the radials, but that is what I want. They are almost wore out and I haven't had a flat yet. I have a set of razr 2's on the way. Most people say that is the way to go. Most of my friends run a generic holeshot and they work good also. I didn't go with flat fronts because I had problems with a friends quad gripping too well in the front.

ya i wasnt to sure about the flat or rounded fronts. you want them to grip but to much grip can be a bad thing. I am really interested in the mud sharks but they are only in 21" and i want to keep the 20" will the one in effect it much?

I run the 6ply Razor fronts on mine although they are a 23 They work great. I oppted for the 22 holeshot and 23 razor set up for trail ridding ground clerance. The razor is a rounder tire on the front and works great.

jiffy,
What is it you have against Holeshots?
If you don't like the Holeshot's go for the Razr 2s. I know a guy on another forum who just got a set and he is SERIOUSLY happy with them!

I agree with JMAC650. I run the same tire combo, and they're awsome. I'm in AZ, and the rocks, and desert "fauna" I blast thru haven't done anything to them, they look almost brand new.
I've used Holeshots on everything I've owned, and never had a complaint. Well one.... when I ran .190 Baja rims on my Banshee, my rear tires would need alittle air the next day. I attribute it to the rims though, as I put those same tires on my wife's 250R and they never leaked.
