Default Kinda Scarry but....

Has anyone taking the front brakes off their Raptor to save weight? I have been tinkering around with my 02 and ripped out the front brakes and flipped the rims around so it sits wider. I just wanted to hear any input from others that have done this if there is any??? I know I wont be cruising down no steep hills but the drags should be fun

Just have to save some run way area to slow down

Uhhh, my input. keep you front brakes. Are you crazy or something? You always use fronts before rears.

Depends on what your doing with it? Are you going to be using it strictly at the drag strip? If so, then I understand, but if not.......yeah, your nuts. Your front brakes are 70% of your stopping power. You won't see ME without them, but different strokes for different folks.

This is for sand and mostly sand drags. Things don't roll to good in the sand so I don't think it's a problem.

You could probably get a fair amount of weight off the rear by taking EVERYTHING concerning the rear brakes off....including the brake light switch, brake light, brake lever, rotor, etc. You could use aluminum spacers so everything still lines up too. Every pount you can get off of the drivetrain is like taking 10 off of the body.

I hardly ever use my front brakes. But then all I ride is sand and soon as you let off the off you slow down pretty fast. I don't think I would remove them though. They do come in handy in a pinch.
