Default stupid ? but a friend needs help with oil change

My friend just got a used 92 polaris 250, I haven't seen it yet but he wanted to change the oil he told me he could not find the drain plug for the motor or trans. i am going over tomorrow to check it out, if anyone could tell me where abouts the drains are located it would be great, thanks

No drain plug for the motor it's a 2 stroke so the oil is injected in with the fuel. the trans drain plug is also a travel limiter for belt alingment the drain plug has a bolt coming out of it that hits the frame on the left side. lossen the locknut screw that bolt in all the way then take the plug out. When you put the plug back in screw the center bolt out untill it hits the frame and then a half turn more and tighten the locknut. You'll see what i mean when you look under it. and make sure he keeps the oil tank up front full or premixs if the injector has been removed.

Sorry Jeff, but the drain for the tranny is on the bottom of the tranny toward the rear of the bike. Here is a link to the parts diagram. The drain plug is part 37. 92 250 tranny diagram. Jeff is right about the motor. No oil drain plug there.

Sorry I should have looked at the diagram. I did not know they had changed the plug on the newer quads.
