Default ongoing big bore tunning issue.

engine all back together again w/ new piston, re-bored and fresh bottom end. I put all Aaen carb jetting recomendations back in the 42 mm tmx. ( 25pilot, 57needle/4th position, 430main) I ride between sea level and 2000ft. w/ temps around 32f-70f. So before blowing it up, (scored side of piston in my pics.) I had a 15 pilot, 57 needle/3rd, and 410 main. I thought it was running "ok". Still had a little stumble on bottom (sometimes just couldn't get the tires to spin) and seemed to just hit powerband and would fall on its face like if you opened the throttle smoothly but somewhat quick you would get to powerband at about 3/4 throttle then as you continue to open it up it would just bogg. Sometimes if on a flat you kind of slowly feather the throttle to wot it would eventually open all the way.
Now its all back together and ran it last Sunday and The above symptoms are all very noticeable just amplified. Sorry for the long post, but if I expect to get help I will need to give as much as possible. Thanks.

I am sure this has been asked before, but what does your plug look like at 1/4,1/2 and full throttle?

Allways seemes a bit on the dark side but not enough to foul, except for mid throttle. Where its nice and coffee brown. My biggest worry is that a 15 pilot and a 410main is a long way from recomendations, as a matter of fact if i remember correct with the air box mod I'm suppose to go to a 440 main. Also when i run it for a bit I can hear it start to ping, seems like its allways done this since getting this kit, if I let off and put around for a bit its ok again for a bit.

I would highly suggest that you get a 39PWK from Rick,or HPD .I know you might not want to spend the money. But it looks like if you continue running like you are you will be spending the money on another rebuild. The jetting they are telling you to try is only a starting point,so it is not unusual for you to be way off.

Your probably right. It will be a while till I ride again I guess, cuz I just cant justify spending more money on this fine piece of machinery right now. I hate that I've spent so much time trying to get it right, and so little time enjoying it. I wish it were just all back to stock and I had the money I've spent on it for a nice down payment on another quad.

I am guessing that you have aftermarket reeds in it as well.If you do try it with the factory reeds if you still have em.Just something else to eliminate.
