Default Installing a snow plow on scrambler 500 4x4

HI,
I'm looking to put a 48" plow on my scrambler. Will the machine handle it stock? Or should I do clutch mods or swap a sportsman hi/lo trans into it?
thanks,
Don

cycle country is a great place to look for that plow to go on your scrammy. I use one on my 500 and it works just fine

your Scrambler 500 will handle the 48" plow fine in 4wd. I had a 48" on my '99

This time of the year makes me happy that all the snow is behind us! Do you still have more snow coming this year, or are you getting an end of the season sale price for next season?

My 95 Scrambler handles the snow just fine also. Ticks off some of the neighborhood with a piped 2-stroke, but they get over it when they are out shoveling their sidewalks and I blast through! Cycle Country makes a great setup. I leave the plow mount on all year and rarely catch anything with it. I went 2 years with the same wear bar on the blade, replaced it this year for $15.00. Not a bad deal. The Sportsman tranny won't work in a Scrambler. I can't remember exactly which model it is, I think and Explorer, but there is only one hi/low range tranny that will bolt up perfect to a Scrambler.
